TSMC isn't going to be cranking anything new in the 3nm range

3nm is booked, but 5nm fabs have available capacity. At 5nm, Samsung is an alternative fabber.

Also these are new designs so why do they have to be on a newer node on the first batches? There are LOT of fabs out there without enough load right now if you're willing to use an older node; that is, there are a LOT of other companies besides Samsung, TSMC, & Intel.

Indeed, here in the SW USA this has been normal for many years now and lately there is SO MUCH PV generation that you get a big break in winter. Here are the residential tariffs (in pretty Joe 6-Pack notation) for APS (Arizona's biggest utility and for-profit) and SRP (Phoenix-area only and non-profit):

https://www.aps.com/en/Residen...
https://www.srpnet.com/price-p...

Notice the "Super Off-Peak" in winter being VERY cheap when air conditioning isn't required and On-Peak being in the afternoons when PV is going down and demand is peaking, particularly during weekdays. (Note that Net Metering and the like are covered in separate Riders (add-ons)).

So, no, this is new in India and the EU / UK but certainly not here.

Exactly this--my credit union's president said the exact same thing, and I've seen it echoed across other credit unions & a statement from the NCUA (credit union's version of FDIC). You can read it for yourself here:

Globalstar was a joint partnership between Qualcomm & Verizon (I think 1 or 2 others too); I still have a Qualcomm GSP-1600 Globalstar handset & can still activate it (did a few years ago). From a tech stand point, it is still (AFAIK) the only CDMA satellite system ever built!

Iridium (along with some others that quickly imploded because they didn't go bankrupt & get bailout $ like these 2) was the competition using TDMA like everyone else.

Ham radio guy here: this is the best video I could come up with on short notice. The **VERY** IMPORTANT thing here is that a VSAT terminal like StarLink is also TRANSMITTING and therefore must be very damn sure it's not sending signal where it shouldn't go.

This also includes things like side-lobes which further gets into the whole sat vs terrestrial thing also referenced (because a terrestrial signal will ALWAYS overpower something from space, just like with GNSS).

Another ham op here, and the other comments off this parent are correct:

HIDs are discharge lamps like fluorescent, neon, etc, and by definition create tons of RF--remember the original spark gap transmitters? Using them in your car will \wipe everything out because it's conducted. Outside of there (on a pole, etc) it depends how efficiently it radiates and if it has anything to stop it at the source (ferrite, etc).

If you listen to an AM radio you'll hear the pops of the spark plugs firing (and sometimes the injectors). The plasma discharge will probably sound like this but lasting a bit longer.

As for the super short-sighted comment about not listening to radio, I'm in the same boat BUT that doesn't apply to other people and that also doesn't apply to 2-way radio that could get jammed by this such as on an ambulance, police car, or ham radio op's car.

Finally, as a reminder to the increasing amount of non-nerds here, this is what's being talked about but inside each cylinder:

You (and likely others) are understandably confused as they tried *29* times to get their mitts on NXP before finally giving up!

As for this, I am one of those who who know better than to trust Qualcomm's C-suite: this is a a company that is famous for not playing nice with others & I guarantee you there's a nasty ulterior motive.
