We're probably the first sentient beings to evolve because it doesn't make sense for God to incarnate himself as Christ here on Earth. If sentient beings exist on other planets, alien God incarnates (alien Christs) have to die multiple times to save the entire universe.

I also let my membership lapse because I couldn't read all the magazines anymore. Many of my magazines remain unopened to this day.

SMS is the *least* expensive way to send data in developing countries. Here in the Philippines, normal SMS costs only 0.02USD per message. It costs 0.49USD for 1 day unlimited SMS. Unlimited 3G/HSDPA costs 1.23USD per day. LTE is currently free because it's still being tested in selected cities.

A better idea: watch Black Mirror, episode 3, and implement a Google Glass app that does this.

I wish humanity was still subjected to evolutionary pressure, like these mosquitoes, that would drive gross human evolution. Right now, our species would no longer improve unless we use genetic engineering.

GPL is too restrictive. It should not be called "free software" by any rational definition of the term. Oracle retains far too much control. Languages that don't have a genuinely free implementation (Java, C#/VB, Perl, Ada, etc) should be avoided.

Direct-connect can be achieved with IPv6 without having to set up expensive infrastructure for getting around NAT. Of course, you do have to set up your network for IPv6.
