This is kind of why it's a good thing. At least this issue is getting some more news coverage now, so people know about it enough to get upset about it. It's the people's opinion that the Gillard govt. is reacting so strongly to, well that and other third party interests... but I bet at the moment they are more interested in being popular than anything else.

I use lastpass and think it's great, but for security reasons I don't let it keep my email sign on details. That way if there is ever a breach I can use the email reset features of whatever websites it has. Call it medium-paranoid.

Unless Microsoft just drop all but the most uncomplicated software that is... There is probably a lot more money is selling people 'Windows Tablet 8' software than letting them run Office XP anyway. You're right though, to gain any market share there will need to be some great advantage like running legacy software.

I'm assuming from all the litigation against competitors by large U.S. technology/software firms, it is cheaper and easier for them to sue than to come up with new products and ideas for their customers.
