OP displays some naivete if he thinks he can just go into freelancing out of HS, ffs i'm in the same position as you pretty much just at 15 instead of 20... fuckin took me at least ten before i could find my ass with both hands. Even then I would say until I reached about 8 of professional experience (meaning getting paid) could I freelance... but freelancing sucks so fuck that.

The spirit of your advice is sort of on the right track, but... LPIC isn't really widely known like RH certs are. Also, RH certs are more admirable since they are practical only, no multiple choice. I have both LPIC1 and 2, never really helped me, just went and got it to see if I could. Lastly, please don't advocate Perl usage. We have more modern languages with real OOP at this point that are easier to maintain and easier to use. You're right though, if you can't code in at least one language at an acceptable level, you're not getting the job if it's more than a junior position or the hiring person is mildly retarded.

You can learn a lot from looking at simple tools like ls, and then looking at system libraries as well. And yes, I know it's not C++.

ah, that's super easy, have you ever even tried to read the docs? If 10.0.0.1 is a gateway that people are nat'd behind, something like
block in from 10.0.0.1 to 192.168.0.0/24
in pf.conf, done. pfctl -n -f /etc/pf.conf to check that the grammar is correct, and pfctl -F rules -f /etc/pf.conf to reload the rules. If you mean you need to set up the openbsd box to *do* nating it's still pretty simple. All it takes is a quick look at the PF documentation.
