iCourt Description

iCourt is a software program that allows for virtual, audio/visual court sessions. This includes arraignment hearings as well as first appearance hearings, motion hearings, trials, and motion hearings. The application allows encrypted communication between citizens and court staff including the solicitors, public defenders, probation officers, clerks and interpreters as well as the judge. Based on answers to predetermined questions, the citizen log-in process directs cases towards designated staff members. Electronic signatures can be made through the iCourt system for forms such as acknowledgement of rights, probation documents, community services agreements, and reset notices. Court staff have complete flexibility to transfer cases internally, invite staff into ongoing proceedings, and initiate private video chats with one another during hearings.
