Scientific Linux is a rebuilt of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (property Red Hat Inc NYSE.RHT). Informally, we call them "The upstream vendor" or "TUV". TUV is used to indicate that Scientific Linux is not affiliated, supported, or sanctioned in any way by upstream. We hope to make this distinction as obvious as possible by not using their names.
