friendica is a social network that is decentralized. Architecture decentralized without central ownership or authority. You can establish relationships across any compatible system. This creates a network of smaller sites that is larger than the Internet. You can easily post wall-to-wall and leave remote comments from any location, even across different network nodes. Each item has its own access list. Private conversation groups -- All communications are restricted to members of these groups. Private messaging with one-to-one using supported protocols. You can also "expire" older content after a set period. Your personal data can be downloaded. All of it belongs to you.
