Useful for daily tasks Date: Feb 24 2026
Summary: Converting safety manual pages into individual images for the training portal is a weekly task. This tool does it every time without requiring any desktop software.
Positive: The convert PDF to PNG function created clean images that were very useful in presentation slides. The file naming was organized, and the download was in a single zip.
Negative: The processing time for files with more than 30 pages took a little longer than smaller files.

decent excel conversion Date: Feb 24 2026
Summary: extracting transaction information from monthly statements is a common task in our area. zendocs cuts down about twenty minutes each time compared to retyping everything manually.
Positive: the pdf to excel converter identified most of the rows and columns in a bank statement correctly. only a few merged cells required manual cleaning up after downloading.
Negative: the headers in multi-page tables did not always repeat properly in the excel file.

helpful for splitting files Edited: Feb 19 2026
Summary: dividing a training manual into sections for various departments was easy. it took maybe five minutes total for the whole process, which is pretty quick.
Positive: the split tool allowed me to divide a 90-page document into chapters according to custom page ranges. the output files were labeled correctly and ready to be shared.
Negative: the part where you input the page range could benefit from a more graphical interface rather than having to type the numbers.

Gets the job done Date: Feb 19 2026
Summary: I was reviewing a draft training manual for the new hire onboarding packet. The annotations were good at syncing with the downloaded file.
Positive: The annotation features are easy to use and very responsive. There was no lag at all when I highlighted, underlined, and added sticky notes to a shared PDF.
Negative: The color schemes for the highlights could be improved compared to some desktop software.

practical but not perfect Date: Feb 19 2026
Summary: need to convert a rental agreement to an editable word doc for some changes. the converted file was ready to use right away with only minor adjustments needed.
Positive: the pdf to word converter maintained most of the table formatting, which was a pleasant surprise. uploading was quick, and the converted file was ready in seconds.
Negative: font spacing was a bit off on a few pages, but not a big issue.

decent for quick tasks Date: Feb 09 2026
Summary: bounced from different computers at different clients this week, and being able to use zendocs from any browser was nice. also merged some proposals, split some reports, and signed some documents without requiring anything to be installed on clients' machines. did experience some issues uploading to slow wifi at a client's office, but that's probably more on them than on us.
Positive: handles basic pdf operations without requiring software installation. browser-based approach means that i can work from any computer without worrying about downloading programs and avoiding IT restrictions.
Negative: upload speed also varies greatly depending on the internet connection, which might sometimes be disappointing when dealing with large items in areas with slow wifi.

annotation tools are useful Date: Feb 09 2026
Summary: i have used it for a group project when we needed to review a draft of a research paper. all the members of the group were able to add their feedback and highlights to the PDF. although the resulting file had a slightly rainbow feel to it, it was a much more organized system than relying on emails. we had completed the process in half the usual time.
Positive: pdf highlighting and sticky note functionality makes collaborative work easier. it is possible for my team and I to review a document and add our notes on the pdf, rather than writing emails with our feedback.
Negative: the color options for highlights are only available in a few basic choices. would appreciate more choices to help group specific types of comments visually.

Helpful for student work Date: Feb 09 2026
Summary: Combined three separate essays and a bibliography into one submission file for the final project. This process was quite easy, though the final merged file ended up being 8MB, close to the size limit in the submission portal. Had to go back and compress it after the merge. Would have been nice if the compression was included in the merge process.
Positive: Assisted in combining different assignment PDFs into one document to be presented, which it seems many professors prefer to receiving different email attachments with each component of an assignment.
Negative: The file size may increase substantially when dealing with the merger of numerous documents, with no compression provided to facilitate easier management.

form filling feature Date: Feb 06 2026
Summary: Has completed several online rental applications entirely online, as opposed to printing and scanning forms. Most text boxes were easy to fill in, though I noticed that checkboxes required a good clicking a couple of times to get them to register. Being able to save forms was really helpful when I was interrupted in the middle of filling one out.
Positive: Filled out several PDF forms without the need to print them. Text fields function well, and the ability to save a form partway through is actually useful.
Negative: In some instances, the check box's functionality may require a certain level of clicking, which can be a little irritating at times when trying to go through a long list of check boxes

Decent rotate and reorder Date: Feb 06 2026
Summary: Corrected the batch of scanned lecture notes, which had half or so of its pages upside down or sideways. The drag-and-drop feature to arrange the pages worked flawlessly, even if I needed to zoom in on some of the smaller thumbnails to ensure I was rotating the right pages. This took about 15 minutes for 80 pages, which isn’t bad considering how disorganized the originals were.
Positive: Turning sideways-scanned pages that come in sideways is no problem, and re-arranging them via drag and drop makes life relatively painless.
Negative: The size of the preview thumbnails is just a little too small on the screen of a laptop computer, which makes it a little more difficult to easily tell which pages need rotating just by glancing at the screen.

Works well for signing Date: Feb 03 2026
Summary: Signed a dozen freelance agreements this month using the signature function. It only took about 30 seconds per agreement – just had to open the PDF, place the signature where it needed to go, and download. Clients ended up with properly signed agreements without me having to print, sign, scan, and email back. The only small pain is having to recreate the signature each time, but it's still much easier than the old way.
Positive: The electronic signature feature is clean and simple to use. Used my trackpad to draw my signature, and it looked professional enough for client agreements without having to use a stylus or scan a physical signature.
Negative: Would be great to have the ability to save multiple signature designs so I don't have to recreate it every time I sign a different agreement.

Good for quick edits Date: Feb 03 2026
Summary: This was used to grade 30 research papers over the weekend. The ability to place comments right on the PDF was a huge improvement over my previous system of writing out notes. Occasionally, the page turning was a bit slow when working with 40-page documents, but it wasn't frustrating.
Positive: The annotation tools are quite functional, and placing text boxes or highlights is not so complex that I had to look at tutorials.
Negative: Turning pages could be quicker, as there is a slight delay when jumping to a particular page number in long documents.

Useful but occasional slowness Date: Jan 26 2026
Summary: I use this for combining reports and splitting documents regularly. Most of the time it's fast but occasionally I'll wait longer than expected without knowing why. Functionality is solid and results are reliable, just wish performance was more consistent. Still gets the job done.
Positive: Merge PDF combined multiple documents accurately with preserved formatting. Split tool extracted page ranges effectively. Core functionality covers most common PDF tasks.
Negative: Processing speed varied – some operations completed in seconds while others took noticeably longer without clear explanation for the delay.

Solid for student needs Date: Jan 26 2026
Summary: I use Zendocs for merging course PDFs: combining lecture slides, annotating readings, and compressing files so I can then store them in the cloud. It does everything I need and doesn't require me to pay for pro tools. The page limits can be super frustrating when trying to work with particularly long textbooks, but overall its been very reliable all semester.
Positive: Editing and annotating PDFs helped markup lecture notes and textbooks, while the merge feature combined study materials into organized documents. Free tier provides adequate functionality for academic use.
Negative: Page limit restrictions on the free tier meant that splitting larger textbooks into multiple operations was a bit tedious for heavy academic workloads.

Functional but not fancy Date: Jan 26 2026
Summary: I took the financial document, converted it from pdf to Excel, and started working with the information. The majority was successful, aside from the need to clean some of the merged cells. For basic conversions, this tool should be fine. It is not necessarily the most accurate tool I have used, however, it is free, so I am at least 80%.
Positive: The free version of PDF to Excel managed to retrieve the table information from the PDF document with fair precision. The “Merge tool” succeeded in merging the documents without making any errors. The free version’s accessibility to most of the essential.
Negative: There were some issues with accuracy in converting tables with complicated structures, such as merged cells – required some cleanup in Excel.
