Works well for signing Date: Feb 03 2026
Summary: Signed a dozen freelance agreements this month using the signature function. It only took about 30 seconds per agreement – just had to open the PDF, place the signature where it needed to go, and download. Clients ended up with properly signed agreements without me having to print, sign, scan, and email back. The only small pain is having to recreate the signature each time, but it's still much easier than the old way.
Positive: The electronic signature feature is clean and simple to use. Used my trackpad to draw my signature, and it looked professional enough for client agreements without having to use a stylus or scan a physical signature.
Negative: Would be great to have the ability to save multiple signature designs so I don't have to recreate it every time I sign a different agreement.

Good for quick edits Date: Feb 03 2026
Summary: This was used to grade 30 research papers over the weekend. The ability to place comments right on the PDF was a huge improvement over my previous system of writing out notes. Occasionally, the page turning was a bit slow when working with 40-page documents, but it wasn't frustrating.
Positive: The annotation tools are quite functional, and placing text boxes or highlights is not so complex that I had to look at tutorials.
Negative: Turning pages could be quicker, as there is a slight delay when jumping to a particular page number in long documents.

Useful but occasional slowness Date: Jan 26 2026
Summary: I use this for combining reports and splitting documents regularly. Most of the time it's fast but occasionally I'll wait longer than expected without knowing why. Functionality is solid and results are reliable, just wish performance was more consistent. Still gets the job done.
Positive: Merge PDF combined multiple documents accurately with preserved formatting. Split tool extracted page ranges effectively. Core functionality covers most common PDF tasks.
Negative: Processing speed varied – some operations completed in seconds while others took noticeably longer without clear explanation for the delay.

Solid for student needs Date: Jan 26 2026
Summary: I use Zendocs for merging course PDFs: combining lecture slides, annotating readings, and compressing files so I can then store them in the cloud. It does everything I need and doesn't require me to pay for pro tools. The page limits can be super frustrating when trying to work with particularly long textbooks, but overall its been very reliable all semester.
Positive: Editing and annotating PDFs helped markup lecture notes and textbooks, while the merge feature combined study materials into organized documents. Free tier provides adequate functionality for academic use.
Negative: Page limit restrictions on the free tier meant that splitting larger textbooks into multiple operations was a bit tedious for heavy academic workloads.

Functional but not fancy Date: Jan 26 2026
Summary: I took the financial document, converted it from pdf to Excel, and started working with the information. The majority was successful, aside from the need to clean some of the merged cells. For basic conversions, this tool should be fine. It is not necessarily the most accurate tool I have used, however, it is free, so I am at least 80%.
Positive: The free version of PDF to Excel managed to retrieve the table information from the PDF document with fair precision. The “Merge tool” succeeded in merging the documents without making any errors. The free version’s accessibility to most of the essential.
Negative: There were some issues with accuracy in converting tables with complicated structures, such as merged cells – required some cleanup in Excel.

Works for basic tasks Date: Jan 22 2026
Summary: I use ZenDocs for merging expense reports and compressing files when emailing them out. It serves my purposes quite well and has a clean interface. Although not the most robust tool available in the market, for practical purposes, this tool has not caused me any grief.
Positive: Combined three PDFs into a single document without problems. File compression utility shrunk the file size sufficiently for email transmission. User interface is simple and doesn't need a learning curve.
Negative: The feature set, while not extensive compared with subscription services, doesn’t offer high-level edit functionality such as redaction or batch processing multiple files at once.

Decent compression but limits exist Date: Jan 22 2026
Summary: I wanted to attach a presentation to a client through email and it exceeded mail limit constraints. Using the compress feature in zendocs helped me reduce its size sufficiently without compromising image quality. This isn’t one of those platforms offering a multitude of tools; however, this helps to facilitate what is advertised. Split a very large file to overcome certain mail-size constraints.
Positive: Compression shrunk the size of my presentation from 28MB to 11MB, which was sufficient to send by email. Image quality was still okay for sharing. It has a neat interface that took no more than 30 seconds to complete the process.
Negative: Free tier also has restrictions on file size, which forced me to zip in two installments in bigger projects – would have been better with larger limitations.

Basic edits work well Date: Jan 07 2026
Summary: I used zendocs to clean up a scanned document by removing extra pages and rotating a few sections. Once I found the right tools, it went smoothly. I wouldn’t call it flashy, but it was practical and got the job done reliably. 😐
Positive: Editing and deleting pages felt responsive, and the annotate pdf option covered the basics without clutter. The tools were straightforward once loaded.
Negative: It took a moment to locate the rotate page option, and the icons could be slightly clearer for first-time users. Nothing major, just a brief adjustment period.
