WACUP Description
A media player that aims to be a replica of some of your favorite media players and bring them into the future. WACUP, which can be pronounced wac-up or wakeup in your native language, is my vision for a media player. It will be compatible with plug-ins that are available for many of the most popular media players. My goal is to fix bugs, update existing features and add new features. I want it to eventually become a fully compatible media player. WACUP is heavily built around a plug in system which makes it easy to customize your WACUP installation to suit your needs. An SDK will be available once the preview build is finished. This SDK allows for new plug-ins to be added to the system. Yes, WACUP is free to download and use. To ensure WACUP is available to a wider audience, it is important to become a WACUP beta tester.

Clapper
GNOME media player that is simple and modern. Clapper is a GNOME mediaplayer built using GJS and GTK4 toolkit. GStreamer is used as a media backend by the media player and everything is rendered via OpenGL. The player runs natively on both Xorg as well as Wayland. It supports hardware acceleration via VA-API on AMD/Intel GPUs and NVDEC (NVIDIA) on mobile devices. The media player features an adaptive GUI. Clapper will use a majority of the unmodified GTK widgets when viewing videos in "windowed" mode to match your OS look. All GUI elements will change in color and size when the player enters fullscreen mode. You can also choose to display video only on top of any other windows. This gives you a PiP-like experience. Mobile-friendly transitions can also be supported. We have improved the GL/GLES context selection. It also has a few patches so that some functionalities work better in Flatpak versions.

MPlayer is a movie player that runs on many platforms. It can play most MPEG/VOB and AVI formats. VideoCD, SVCD and DVD can be viewed. MPlayer's wide range of output drivers is another great feature. It supports X11, Xv and SVGAlib. fbdev, AAlib and DirectFB are all supported. However, you can also use GGI, SDL (and these way all their drivers), VESA (on any VESA compatible card, even if you don't have X11!) Rage
Rage is an audio and video player that was created using the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries. It has some interesting features. Rage is a simple audio and video player that's similar to Mplayer. To play media files, use the command line or drag and drop them onto Rage to add them to a list. To enter video browser mode, run Rage without any command-line arguments. You can display a visual overview of all the songs in your playlist by clicking the / key, or hovering your mouse over it. Rage has a complete set of key controls. If the album art is not already cached, Rage searches for it and displays it. It can even generate thumbnails for video timelines. You can preview clips by hovering over the position bar at bottom of the window. Rage will save any album covers it downloads to be used in the future.
