Tizen is an open-source, flexible operating system that was built from the ground up to meet the needs of all stakeholders in the mobile and connected device ecosystem. This includes device manufacturers, mobile operators and independent software vendors (ISVs). Tizen is developed under open source governance by a group of developers. It is open to all members who want to participate. Tizen operating system is available in multiple profiles to meet different industry needs. Tizen IVI (in vehicle infotainment), Tizen mobile, Tizen TV and Tizen wearable are the current Tizen profiles. All profiles are built on top a common infrastructure called Tizen Common. A device manufacturer can start with one of these profiles, modify it to suit their needs, or use Tizen Common to create a new profile to meet any device's memory, processing, and power requirements and quickly bring it on the market.
