Timeshift Description
Timeshift Linux is an application that offers functionality similar to System Restore in Windows and the Time Machine in Mac OS. Timeshift takes regular snapshots of your file system to protect it. These snapshots can be restored at a later time to undo any changes to the system. Snapshots in RSYNC mode are taken using rsync or hard links. The common files between snapshots are shared to save disk space. Each snapshot is a complete system backup that can easily be viewed with a file manager. Timeshift is similar in function to TimeVault, BackInTime, and rsnapshot but has different goals. It protects only system files and settings. It does not protect user files like documents, photos, and music. This ensures that your files are not lost if you restore your system to an earlier time.
