    Good simple editor

    Summary: I got it years ago to write some MUD code. I still use it all the time when an IDE would be overkill.

    Positive: All good for code editing. Syntax highlighting for every language I ever tried, code folding, custom tabs/spaces. Updates are easy and it gets syntax packages automatically if you open/save a new file type.

    Hybrid view of markdown, special characters and formatting both shown.

    Negative: It's not an IDE, you won't get much help beyond auto closing brackets and quotes.
