    SpamTitan review

    Date: Mar 01 2024

Summary: Very positive reviews from all clients. We have 5 client setup now and all are very happy. We did have to tweak the sensitivity level for our first client, but we now know how to do that given each client's needs.

Positive: Great sales and support team. Both Clare and Marie are very responsive and provide excellent customer service. They know the product very well and answer our questions quickly.

Negative: Reporting options are limited. I would prefer options to have report sorted differently and be able to have the full report come out on a different schedule than the delta report. For example, report all potential spam weekly, but just report occurrences since last report daily.

    SpamTitan Plus

    Edited: Nov 22 2023

Summary: We rarely have to contact SpamTitan because we have complete control and can look at what's happening. This gives us peace of mind. Love the url malicious protection. Means we're not nervous about some staff members clicking accidentally and downloading malicious software.

Love the quarantine and reporting and the fact we have control over whether we accept or reject or block emails.

We've used the software for a few years now and hope to continue with it for years to come.

    Positive: URL malicious protection.
    Quarantine Report.
Ability to block, deliver or allow emails.
Administrative control so that we can check what's happened to an email if it's missing.

Negative: Very small company means that the price is high as the minimum user license is 25 and there are only 6 users.

SpamTitan is working solution but there is room for improvement

    Date: Oct 06 2023

Summary: Using it over 5 years and so far it's doing the good job. It's effectively blocking malware, spam, ransomware, and viruses. It's flexible and can be customized for many scenarios. Definitely help to improve email security and release admin headache.

Positive: Fast service support, affordable, implementing was easy, each user has own login, block by geolocation, black/white lists by IP and domain, easy to view/release messages, two AV scanners.

Negative: Sometime has many false positives, no options to integrate with third party MFA, no recent update of software, logs file has short period.

    SpamTitan, effective but not cheap.

    Edited: Oct 04 2023

Summary: The menu layout and terminology (allowed vs whitelisted) can make for some confusion. Non-intuitive Administrative menu layout.

Positive: Effective overall at blocking a good amount of spam, they need a UI review as "outside the SpamTitan bubble" the menu layout is very sub par.

Negative: Missing some features barracuda had like individual user whitelists lists.

    Not too Shabby.

    Date: Dec 03 2020

Summary: Many configuration options. This is good and bad. but if you want control this has some good options.

Positive: Now we have less spam. I'm pleased with the service so far! it has cut down on spam. The reports and ease of releasing valid email is great.

Negative: Quite a bit of configuration. This is both a pro and a con depending on your skill level.

    SpamTitan review

    Date: Jun 28 2023

Summary: Good customer support in general.
Good customer liaison person for monthly check ins.

Positive: Ease of use, simple GUI for viewing mail flow and reporting.

Negative: Does not scan zip/compressed files.
Layout of GUI for (example and they are all like this) allowed senders you have to scroll through a vast list before you get to the end to add a new sender, please add the ADD button on the top of the list as well.

I would like to speak to person for customer support at times via teams/google to be able to explain issues with more detail.
reporting on trends like users with the most threats/spam.

    Worst AntiSPAM Solution ever used

    Date: Nov 23 2023

Summary: Nice AntiSPAM Gateway if support and licensing counts don't matter. We are now moving to a better product.

Positive: Nice WebUI, Clustering works very well. Automtic Cluster reconnect after downtime etc.
    Easy Upgrading.

Negative: We had several Bugs encountered in SPAMTitan, most of them were never fixed in the two years we used the product. The must critical bug was the License account via API. While License count we had to pay was always 100% correct, API gave only 60% of used license count we could invoice to clients. So for two years we lost a ton of money with that product. And although we explained on every meeting with on of their developers statistics again, this bug never got fixed, they closed the ticket and done.
Another critical bug for us was, if you change sasl SMTP Authentication methos (to IMAP or LDAP Server) saslauth daemon never comes back and you have to oben a support ticket. Was never fixed. SMTP Test button is also a joke.
