SpaceSniffer Description
SpaceSniffer, a freeware program (donations welcome), is a portable tool that allows you to understand how files and folders are organized on your hard drives. Treemap visualization layouts give you an instant view of large folders and files on your devices. Prof. Ben Shneiderman invented the Treemap concept and graciously allowed its use in this tool. Start a scan to see the overall situation. The more elements you see, the more folders and files you have on your hard drive. Do you need more information on a large folder? All it takes is one click. The content of the selected element will be displayed. You can follow larger elements to learn why media files are not allowed more space. Perhaps you prefer to concentrate on certain file types. Simply type the file type in the filter field, and hit enter. The view will respond and only show JPEG files.
