    Great Service

    Date: Feb 19 2024

Summary: Overall i think Sauce is an excellent alternative to 3rd party marketplaces. Its all very well deciding to build a direct delivery channel to save on commissions, but if it doesn't work well and its not popular with your customers its a waste of time and effort. Sauce is definitely worth the effort.

Positive: For starters, Sauce grew my direct orders. On top of that they deliver fast and give great support for me and my customers.

Negative: No real cons. Perhaps it would be nice if they had their own marketplace

    Date: Nov 14 2023

Summary: I’d recommend Sauce via Ben to any restaurant wanting to improve their online ordering process. Simple pricing and great support do the trick

Positive: - Implementation: Ben Ariel and team are amazing and dedicated
    - Google Tag Manager capable: you can properly track your customers from different sources unlike most OLO that only allow for FB pixel

Negative: Customer interface requires an improvement for mobile readiness

Sauce Review : Positive Change to my Online Ordering Business

    Date: Sep 13 2023

Summary: High recommend to any restaurant offering online ordering! It not only provides the best online ordering service to my customers, but it helps me save money (compared to receiving those same orders through 3rd Party Delivery platforms). Thank you Sauce for finding me!

Positive: Integrates directly into my POS. Fantastic Support. Fast deliveries for my customers. Saving commissions on orders.

Negative: At first, Sauce was missing some basic features that I was used to. But they listed to my feedback and implemented my feedback to their Product improvements very quickly!

GetSauce Restaurant Delivery Review - Really high fees, probably not worth it

    Edited: Sep 01 2023

Summary: If you are a business that does most of your business as delivery, it might be worthwhile trying Sauce. If not, it makes almost no sense to use Sauce, as it just seems wrong to charge restaurants such high fees for a customer that wants to pick up an order, with no delivery legwork involved. They are also aggressive in getting you to do initial promotions (ie: $10 off $25) to acquire customers to their platform. Of course they want you to do promotions as they get an upside in fees on your dime while they are not willing to help out with their fee structure in return. It would be a good gesture if they offered a 30 or 60 day period without their fees like many other services or could cosponsor these deals. In the end, they are not willing to compromise on anything and their salespeople are nice but their leadership clearly doesn't give them any authority or discretion whatsoever to give even modest concessions to new possible clients (this is not the norm in this business). There is a variety of competitors that do the almost exact same thing with lower fees ie Chownow, Zuppler, etc. Sauce's reps acknowledged that their competitors charge less but then angled themselves as a premium product worth the extra fees. That's a decision you'll have to make. I would also not give them access to your google my business profile (let them tell you what updates they want and do it yourself) as they will change things on your profile without your notice, even if you ask to be updated beforehand.

Positive: The pros with sauce: in my experience their NYC-based team were pretty responsive. They give a couple bonus services with their product that are smart: one is a feedback system that takes the customer to google to review only if they rate above 4 stars which I like a lot.

Negative: The main drawback is the fee structure. They charge the customer $2 per item (or $1 for small ticket items like drinks or chips) plus a $2 "service fee". This applies both for delivery and pickup. So a customer that buys a $12 sandwich plus a $3 drink will end up paying an extra $5 (2+2+1) that goes to Sauce. In that example, that's a 33% fee, for pickup. wow. and it doesn't even include the credit card processing fees. The delivery fees are the same as pickup so given the average cost of delivery fees ($6-$7) it might turn out that the customer ends up paying a fee slightly lower than the actual cost of delivery or slightly higher. Either way, they market this as "commission-free" which is deceiving, because they are literally taking a commission off every single item sold. Their sales team will swear up and down that it doesn't cost the restaurant anything because the customer pays these fees baked into the price of each item, but that's just really dumb logic. Their merchant portal is lackluster and full of technical issues; they are still in what seems as a beta version. For example, hours on the merchant portal won't correspond with hours on the ordering page and there is no way to update a lot of other things besides contacting them and having their team do this.

    Bad

    Date: Aug 13 2022

Summary: Poor truly the most expensive delivery service. A 30 dollar order goes up 15 dollars to use this delivery. From all deliveries this is the most expensive by far.

Positive: None super expensive 50% increase in any order for using them. You better off using DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc

Negative: No one to reach other than chat. Takes multiple attempts to cancel an order and at the end must call restaurant directly. A $13 order ends up being $10 plus more for using this service. Even Uber Eats is cheaper as well as all the others.
