These instructions do NOT apply to third-party or carrier apps. Samsung has everything you need to customize your phone's style. You can change the theme of your phone to customize the appearance of your Messages app. You can change the font used in Messages by changing the font settings on your phone. You can also create a background or wallpaper for each message thread. Tap the conversation you wish to customize and then tap More options (the three vertical dots). Finally, tap Customize wallpaper.
