Plex Description
You can share, reminisce, or give your moments the spotlight on any device that you choose. It has feature-rich options for organization, format support, as well as no need to upload to a cloud. Our step-by-step wizard makes it easy to set up your media and you will be streaming it in no time. Plex organizes your photos and videos in one place that is easy-to-use and beautiful to view from any device. You can create photo albums, share libraries, modify metadata, browse all your photos and videos with automatic image-and geo-tagging, rediscover forgotten memories, and even create photo albums. Plex tags photos based upon subject (kids or sports, sunsets, etc.) by using object and scene recognition. You can fine-tune your tags by editing, removing, or adding yours! Plex also supports places. This uses any GPS data in a photograph to show you where it has been taken. Chronological clusters allow you to view your precious memories in the order that they occurred.

Easy to use media server Date: Apr 05 2022
Summary: I use plex to stream media from a home server ( old laptop ) across my other devices - mobile , FireTV stick and PC . It works great over wifi for 720p resolution. It lacks the customization options of Kodi but the simple setup makes up for it.
FYI I have reviewed the Plex home media server (not the streaming service.)Positive: Available for free.
Simple to setup - start streaming your content in less than 5 minutes.
Works even over internet.
Available across devices - desktop, mobile, streaming devices.
Download content on smartphone for offline viewing - requires subscription.Negative: Sign Up mandatory - Lots of concern about user data collection.

Scan doesn't recognize certain formats (might be a specific issue with my video files).
Advanced features locked behind subscription - Plex Pass.
