OwnChecks Description

OwnChecks is a desktop application for Windows that allows users to print both personal and business checks on either blank or pre-printed check stock. This software features a customizable MICR line, options for adding a logo and signature, and includes tools for managing accounts and payees, along with a check register, backup and restore functions, spending reports, a PIN lock for security, and an activity log for tracking purposes. Users have the flexibility to print checks individually or in batches, set up recurring payments, duplicate previous checks, and export data related to issued checks for Positive Pay services. The program can import check data from various file formats including CSV files, QuickBooks Desktop IIF files, and Quicken QIF files, although these imports do not connect live to accounting systems. It is compatible with Windows 10 and 11 and keeps check records stored locally on the user’s computer. A free trial version allows checks to be printed with a VOID watermark for evaluation. The initial license for one computer requires a one-time payment, and additional licenses can be purchased for use on extra computers.
