OnyX Description
OnyX is a multifunctional utility that can be used to verify the system files' structure, run miscellaneous maintenance tasks, configure parameters in the Finder and Safari, as well as some Apple applications. It can also delete caches, remove problematic folders and files, rebuild various databases, and much more. OnyX is a reliable tool that can perform many tasks that would otherwise require complicated commands to be typed via a command-line interface. Each major operating system has its own version of OnyX. Make sure you use the correct version and don't try to install a version that isn't compatible with an older operating system. Intel-based Macs or Macs with Apple silicon using macOS Monterey 12. PowerPC-based Mac running Mac OS X Jaguar 10.2 using the BSD subsystem. Only an administrator account can run OnyX. Although the old applications are still available, they will not be updated.
