Modern Action Description
Modern Action is a free web-based civic technology platform for people who want to understand federal policy and communicate with Congress. Instead of starting with a prewritten campaign, it lets users compare policy approaches, choose their own position, and connect that view to relevant bills and provisions when available. It brings together current federal legislation, committee activity, congressional votes, bill sponsorships, and reviewed public positions from sourced records. Users find their U.S. senators and House representative, add their own reasons, and edit the full message before deciding whether to send it. Modern Action is run by a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The core action flow requires no account.

FastDemocracy
FastDemocracy's legislative bill tracking software equips both new and seasoned political advocates with the tools they need to stay informed and effectively promote policy changes by providing real-time updates on legislation at both the state and federal levels. Monitoring bills can be quite challenging, particularly when depending on individual state legislature websites, which can be cumbersome and outdated. Each year, approximately 180,000 bills are introduced across all state legislatures in the United States, making it a daunting task to follow each one. Legislation undergoes a complex process involving sponsorship, committee hearings, amendments, and ultimately, votes before becoming law. This process generates a significant volume of texts, hearings, votes, and amendments that require diligent tracking. To advocate effectively, it's crucial to understand what actions to take and when to act. FastDemocracy is here to assist you in keeping track of the bills that matter to you, allowing for prompt responses to legislative developments. With its user-friendly platform, FastDemocracy simplifies the process of monitoring legislation across Congress and all fifty states, ensuring that you stay informed about the legislative actions that are most relevant to your interests and advocacy efforts.
