Summary: We setup Mimecast as our email filter and from day 1 it has been fairly seamless.

The learning curve is huge to begin with, but the support is always good and the knowledge articles are quite straightforward.

About 25% of the incoming emails are rejected and Mimecast seems to be pretty good at identifying them. We don't get too many complaints and junk email has reduced dramatically.

The reports are amazing, so much detail. There is so much to setup and configure in Mimecast but once you know how it all works together to protect you, you really have nothing to worry about.

Positive: It is huge! So many things that can be configured.
Once you understand how to use Mimecast, its easy to maintain.
99.9% of the emails it blocks are legitimate, but easy to review and release those that were 'held'.
Allows people to manage their own safe and blocked senders.
Support is good as well.
The system learns who the safe senders are.

Negative: It is huge! This can also be a drawback because it can be hard to find what you're after. Sometimes you can get to the same conclusion using multiple methods.

Summary: Quality product that I've used for over a decade at several companies. Powerful tools that stop the majority of SPAM and malicious content. Level 2 tech support knows the product well and is helpful.

Positive: SasS-based. Why would you want to use an on-prem system where all that SPAM and virus-filled email hits your network? Powerful tool with a lot of features that are updated regularly, along with new features. A centralized admin portal lets IT handles everything in a single window. Automated large-file send feature is great.

Negative: Portal can definitely take a little while to learn and master. The workflow doesn't always follow the thought process of other apps so you need to spend time to be highly effective.

Summary: Overall I am satisfied with Mimecast and the safety it provides for my computer and organizations network. I do feel like the portal could be simplified a bit for non tech savvy folks.

Positive: Mimecast does a fantastic job keeping spam emails out. Their portal allows you to see what was rejected and why, as well as the option to release an email once or permit emails moving forward.

Negative: I did find some emails that were not spam, and would have been beneficial to see at an earlier period. The program can feel over protective.
