Advertised “Unlimited Video Editor” Feature Deprecated With No Timeline or Remedy Date: May 11 2026
Summary: I also felt the issue was not handled appropriately, as I was referred back to AppSumo rather than being offered a practical remedy by the product owner. This has left me dissatisfied as a customer and concerned about the reliability of advertised features.
Positive: Advertised as an all-in-one platform for creating product tours, guides, and videos from one recording.
Promotes a broad range of video-related features, including customisation, voiceovers, branding, MP4/GIF export, and editing tools.
The concept is useful in theory for businesses wanting to create software demos and training content quickly.
The platform still allows users to create tours and export them in some formats.
The product has potential if the advertised and previously available editing functionality is properly restored and maintained.Negative: I purchased Layerpath through AppSumo based on the advertised ability to create and edit product demos/videos, including the listed “Video editor (unlimited editing)” feature. When I later needed to use the video editing functionality, I discovered it was unavailable. Layerpath initially described this as a temporary technical issue, but later confirmed that the legacy video editor has been deprecated, has no committed restoration timeline, and is not currently a priority. What concerns me most is that video creation, customisation and editing-related capabilities still appear to be promoted in Layerpath’s public materials, while the practical editing functionality I purchased is no longer available.
