Worst EMR I have ever used Date: Nov 20 2025
Summary: I've used four different EMRs in my career as a physician (including the EMR at the VA), and Intellicure is undoubtably the worst. Don't use this software unless you can't afford something better. It is tedious and unreliable.
Positive: The hyperbaric note system is easy to use.
Raises morale when my coworkers and I joke about how bad the EMR is.Negative: Searching for patient notes from particular dates is shockingly tedious. If you, for example want to see notes from multiple dates, you can't jump into one note, back up to the list of notes/encounters, and select another. You need to either open all the notes that you want in different tabs, or you need to click back all the way to the search screen.

You're locked out of editing notes after a certain number of hours, needing to have another employee at the practice approve a request to edit. This makes absolutely no sense when you consider how editing older notes works in other EMRs like Epic.
The EMR does not recognize every diagnosis code. You will have situations where you need to fudge your diagnosis just so you can enter it into the system and bill for service.
Once or twice a month, the software will totally fail, not only leading to unexpected downtime, but also losing any progress on the note that you've entered in that particular section.
This may just be my particular clinic's setup, but we have to use DrFirst to enter meds and allergies, and that software is equally terrible and it is also painstaking to even get set up with.
