Overall i am satisfied with the service of HostGator. The uptime is really marvelous. They provide excellent support over chat or on call. The 45-days refund policy is attractive and allows you to cancel the contract and get full refund if not satisfied with the service in first 45 days.
Positive: HostGator is one of the leading hosting space seller globally. It offers 99.9% uptime guarantee with its hosting. It offers full C Panel support. The features include Free SSL certificate with hosting plans. HostGator has their own website builder too, which is not part of the standard package.
Negative: Nothing serious, some time i faced issue but that was fixed quickly over telephonic support.

Summary: Overall, it's ok for the basic person. But if you're serious about having a good website speed and longevity i'd look elsewhere.
Positive: Great option if you're looking for a cheap way to host your site. Especially if you're fine with shared hosting.
Negative: Their support is crap. Had issues with SSL's being issued constantly and they never could keep it working and always had to call in. Was annoying.
