Highland 2 Description
In Highland, the emphasis is on the text itself, allowing you to bypass concerns about margins or formatting. Simply dive in and begin typing—don’t hesitate, just start. Maintain a blank line between paragraphs for clarity. When introducing a character, use UPPERCASE for their name, followed by their dialogue on the next line. With the Live Margins feature activated, Highland will take care of the indentation for you. If you need to include a parenthetical note, just place it within parentheses. Additionally, Highland automatically identifies scene headings such as INT. and EXT., along with transitions like CUT TO. After using certain character and location names, Highland will even suggest them for you in future entries. To see how your script looks, simply tap the Preview button or navigate to View > Go to Preview. You’ve now effectively conquered 90% of screenwriting with Highland. Notably, Highland 2 pioneered the inclusion of Gender Analysis, providing valuable insights into the representation of male and female characters in your narrative. This tool not only tracks how often characters speak but also measures the actual word count attributed to each gender. This feature can be instrumental in ensuring diverse and balanced storytelling.

Versatile But Lacking Date: Jul 20 2024
Summary: I have enjoyed the program, I just wish there was a little bit more, where you could flesh out your characters back stories without writing it into the script. Also, location set ups and city backstory cards. It just needs a little bit more and the software would be very well rounded.
Positive: I like how easy it is to use for writing a screenplay or writing a simple manuscript. It formats everything for you and you don't have to worry about it. Also, the free trial has a lot of features, but purchasing the pro version is better. It takes out the watermark on every page if you purchase the pro version. The price is actually not bad either. $50 for pro. I also the different revision colors that are used. All in all it is a good solid software, but there are some cons.
Negative: I have been using the software for a while and I have noticed that there is something lacking in the program.
