The ELMS Learning Network (ELMSLN), an open-source educational technology platform, is designed to foster and sustain innovation in course technologies. It is not a traditional LMS, but a Next Generation Digital Learning Environment. Google Apps for colleges, universities, and individual professors. They can create and manage courses that best suit their needs. A network of educational technologies that can work together using industry standards such as xAPI, REST, and LTI(1.2). This ecosystem can grow infinitely due to the philosophy of design (yes, infinitely). Each course is a network of technologies, hence the name Learning Network. This allows each course to be tailored to its own needs. ELMSLN is 100% free and open source. It uses a best-of-breeds approach to open system development.
