    Complex but useful

    Date: Feb 09 2021

Summary: It is a complete platform to talk, share files and have personal rooms to communicate. It is for people who spend their time on the internet and have friends globally.

Positive: You can make a complete server for chatting in a group,
which you can further divide rooms according to how you want to talk there.
You can allot a role that acts as the authorization level of a member of the server.

Negative: It is very complex and hard to use at the beginning.
The screen freezes on the desktop, and you cannot close it unless you kill its process in task manager.

    The Best App

    Date: Dec 01 2020

Summary: I use this app almost every day from both my mobile device and my laptop. I share my screen, use voice communication with friends, resolve queries, and many other things. And also you can find many other community servers for music, games, programming almost everything.

Positive: Discord is the best digital distribution that I have ever used. It is available on all the platforms, has features to join/create multiple servers invite friends, family, and colleges. Share media, use voice channels use text channels.

Negative: There are sometimes minor issue server issues but nothing to worry about.

    Good for Communication

    Date: Nov 22 2020

Summary: A lot of the time people on Discord don't really care about personal info, they just like talking to others. I feel the environment he is in is very child friendly and safe for him to continue using the app. I highly recommend this if you are able to keep everything I have mentioned in mind.

    Positive: Easy to use,
    User Friendly,
You can comfortably communicate and connect with your friends or colleagues,
    Safe and secured to use.

Negative: Sometimes, it creates server problems, otherwise, there are no Cons for Discord.

    Discord: A Complicated Review

    Date: Jul 11 2022

Summary: Overall, if there support and security was better, I would leave it a higher review and actively enjoy the service. Currently, if there was a decent alternative for community interactions I would be interested in switching..

Positive: Discord has a great user interface, solid minor file sharing abilities and provides a great service to interact with one's staff and general user stakeholders. The program is incredibly easy to get started using and quickly enables the creation of communities for projects or products.

Negative: My biggest gripe with this program is its user support, or simply put the lack thereof. For example, as a paying subscriber to their premium options, my registered, phone and email verified account was flagged as a bot for no stated reason and upon contacting support received no clear way to rectify the issue, no explanation for why the account was flagged, no support in terms of being able to contest this or try to return my account. I received minimal communication which more or less just stated that they believed I was a bot and then refused further communications for a long period. This is just one of the many stories I have of their complete ineptitude at customer support, as someone who runs a community for a moderately sized project this is unacceptable but no other similar enough tool exists to replace it at the moment.
The pricing for premium features has also become increasingly unreasonable over the years.
There is also a significant number of security threats and scam users on the platform which the organization does seem to be trying to combat but the effects of that I have seen are mixed.

Awesome for push to talk room, worst for web cam feed

    Date: Jul 09 2021

Summary: Discord is a nice additional product.
We currently use Slack for our chat system as the external product integration is better.
Otherwise Discord is a must have in a company if you need the push to talk room.

Positive: Easy Push to talk room.
Nice room creating with plenty of features.
    Easy bot integration.
    Access right granular enough.
Screen sharing is simple and efficient.

Negative: When multiple team members share their webcam the CPU usage is just appalling.

    For Non-Gaming Use, It's Alright

    Date: Oct 27 2020

Summary: I've used this for over a year now. It worked well for what I needed it to do then, but I've moved on to other software since then that have more features. Discord was originally intended as a program for gamers to share content and chat, and it shows. While many are working toward expanding features as more and more people have to work or go to school from home, Discord lags behind in features and quality. It's still decent, but it doesn't compare to what else is out there now. It's best suited for what it was made for, and that's not really a bad thing. Could be better with some minor tweaks and added features, but it's decent as is.

Positive: It's easy to set up channels, moderate content and users. Audio is alright, video quality is acceptable. There's a light and dark mode, and it's compatible across all devices, making it useful to use on the go. You can have a large number of users per server and plenty of channels. There is a channel limit, but most users would not likely hit it. Channels can be organized by categories as well.

Negative: The character limit on this isn't great. You can't get much out before you've hit the limit. Basic things like uploading gifs and anything but the smallest of files require a paid account. There are other software out there that let you do those things for free. Sorting through information and keeping track of anything is a pain, even with pins. Screen sharing isn't all that great either, which is ironic given the software's original purpose. No threaded comments either. Not a big deal, but having them would be nice.
