Not worth a subscription Date: Sep 06 2026
Summary: I would suggest looking elsewhere for ID card software. I know the subscription ideology is what a lot of companies are moving to, but to sell me a complete suite at a premium price and then yank it out from under me after I bought it is a terrible way to earn the trust of your customers. I bought the standalone software because I wanted those features it offered knowing that I wasn’t operating a printing business and would be printing small batches of cards infrequently. I have no intention of giving them any more money, including for printing supplies, than I already have at this point. I highly DON’T recommend Bondo.
Positive: Bought a printer package that came with Bondo Silver software via a USB dongle. It was usable but not very intuitive. Used once a year to print first responder ID tags for members of a fire department. Allowed me to create a database and be able to update members as they came and went.
Negative: After 4-5 years, Bondo sent an email out saying they were moving to a subscription service. The silver software package was going to be $500/year. I print maybe 30 cards a year. I was sold a non-subscription software package that changed after I bought it. The email says I won’t be able to use my software version after they force an update that won’t allow me to print unless I do the update. Bait and switch for a software that wasn’t the friendliest to use in the first place.
