I was able to track shared links in detail.

    Date: Oct 12 2022

Summary: I like to know the traffic of my websites when I share the links in different social media or any site where I know that I can get more visits and measure the impact of it. In addition, thanks to this platform I can make changes to my links to the sites where I connect them without having any intermediary and without the need to generate new links for the changes I have made to the sites, including their URL addresses. With this platform, shortening large links has been wonderful since I usually share links from certain sites that are very long and this platform helps me simplify and redirect them without any problem. Thanks to Bitly I have a good management of the URLs of the website and internal content of the entire company, so it is easier to be able to measure everything that happens with the redirections of the links generated with this platform. It was very good to see the impact of marketing within social networks with this platform as I was able to measure the clicks of the shorteners generated for the redirection of my company's website, so I can say that it was very easy and simple to be able to share the URLs in social networks to measure how many people see the published content.

Positive: º I like that I can customize the links in a simple way and that I can create multiple links at the same time that connect to different pages of my website or another address. This makes it easier for me when I want to share a link that is very complicated to be able to shorten it with this platform and send them to my clients or anyone instantly without problems when I generate the links.

º Integrates well with social networks by sharing a shortened URL with this platform. Shorteners usually only display information from your website by displaying a preview of the content of the shortener. In this case, this platform is different and shows information on the final website to which it is going to redirect, thus facilitating the user's understanding of where they are going to go before clicking. This builds more trust as spam and fraudulent content is greatly avoided, so that's why I chose this URL shortener.

º You can generate QR codes and that is what I love the most about this platform. With the QRs I was able to facilitate sharing the URLs outside the Internet, so the user who is going to enter does not have to write the address, but with a simple scan redirects him to the site that I have put inside that QR code type shortener. I loved putting this type of shortener on small posters in the office to make it easier for the client to enter our website without so many complications, thus improving the user experience.

º I can have a complete analysis of what is happening with each URL and also have data in real time. This made it easier for me to measure the impact caused by links when marketing through social networks. With this function of having reports that are updated in real time, I can improve the quality of content shared through this URL shortener platform, since if I shared the direct link without this platform, I would not be able to measure the number of people who access it and where they come from. . Also, it also works for me when doing email campaigns to measure my link click-through rate, so it fits very well in email marketing,

º I did not need great knowledge to be able to generate links through this platform. Also, Bitly tech support gave me answers immediately so I can say that I am very satisfied with this. I love that the ease of implementation is present on any platform and Bitly showed that it was easy to implement it within my company without going through cumbersome processes.

Negative: º It would be nice to have the possibility of being able to generate several follow-up links but that they are from the same site, this would give me the possibility of having different links to share on different sites but that they all lead to the same place. If it had that capacity, it could track the links in more detail and thus be able to determine and obtain data, but from different places and not mix or have data collected in a general way, since it is more practical to be able to have information both in one place and separately.

º I would like to have the ease of being able to order the shortened links, by this I mean that they could be ordered by labels or stored by folders in order to be able to find links more easily since everything is impeccable and easy to find. I would also like links to be organized historically to make it easier to find them according to the days or weeks in which the links were generated.

º It would be nice to have the ability to track clicks in a way where the tracking is at a high level. By this I mean that it would not be bad to be able to know the IP addresses of the clicks generated by the links, since these are susceptible to manipulation at a very high level that can hinder the analysis of the data thrown by not knowing where exactly they come from. users when entering the shortened links with this platform.

º The information collected from the links when a long period of time passes will be deleted. It bothered me a lot that when I wanted to collect this data again to make a historical comparison, this data was not available, it is not possible that if I am paying for a service I want all my data to remain intact. For now my only solution is to export the data from well from a time before it is permanently deleted, but this should not be the correct way.

º I would like it to be easier to be able to share links without generating a stack of long characters but rather making the link as short as possible. This would make it easier to share the link in case users type it manually and don't run into a large number of characters in the generated links to redirect them.

Shortened URLs for better display and click tracking

    Date: Apr 19 2021

Summary: We use this software to shorten many URLs for our social media posts; long links are unattractive and inspire distrust. We have analyzed the clicks that users and customers make on each link to understand what attracts them the most. It has a tracking control that is very good for the organization. I readily recommend it because it integrates very well and helps links to be shortened. Very easy and exciting to use, it is limited to get a good tracking of each click that will help you to get an accurate analysis.

Positive: I like being able to see social media channels and detail users where they click and rank based on region. Bitly offers an excellent free option for those not yet ready to invest. The workflow is perfect; it integrates very well with different platforms. It is a great link builder for shortening and creating display strategies.

Negative: I wish the free version had more systematic tracking analysis, although the paid version has everything included.

Bitly is changing the game through link shorteners.

    Edited: May 01 2023

Summary: Bitly is a URL shortening and tracking platform that has allowed me to shorten long, unwieldy URLs into shorter, more manageable links. This is particularly useful in the real estate industry, where property listings can often have long URLs with complicated strings of numbers and letters. By using Bitly to shorten these links, we make it easier for potential buyers to access our listings and share them with others.

But Bitly's benefits go beyond shortening URLs. The platform also provides detailed tracking and analytics data, allowing us to see how many clicks each link is getting, where those clicks are coming from, and when they happen. This information is invaluable in helping us measure the effectiveness of our marketing efforts and adjust our strategies accordingly. For example, let's say we create a Bitly link for a property listing and share it on our social media channels. By monitoring link analytics data, we can see how many clicks it gets, as well as which social media platform drives the most traffic. We can then use this information to refine our social media strategy, focusing our efforts on the platforms that drive the most traffic and adjusting our messaging to best resonate with our target audience.

Another way Bitly has been useful to me is in our email marketing efforts. By using Bitly to shorten links in our emails, we can prevent long, unwieldy URLs from taking up valuable space in our messages. Additionally, because we can track how many clicks each link receives, we can use this data to refine our email marketing strategy over time, adjusting the frequency and content of our messages based on what resonates with our audience. Bitly is an incredibly valuable tool for me in my work by providing me with shortened and trackable links. Bitly has made it easy for me to drive traffic to our property listings and understand how our marketing efforts are performing.

Positive: In my search for many link shortener platforms that provide me with useful information and that are customizable, I have found this platform to be a good option for managing my links. One of the things I appreciate most about Bitly is its powerful analytics features that have helped me understand and improve my link performance. The analytics panel provides quite a lot of valuable and useful information about the performance of my links. It shows me how many clicks my links are getting, what devices and platforms my visitors are using, and even the geographic location of my visitors. Armed with this information, I can make informed decisions about my marketing strategy and optimize my links for better performance.

You can also create branded links, custom QR codes, and bio link solutions that enhance my brand identity and engagement. Branded links not only look more professional, but also help establish brand recognition and increase engagement. Custom QR codes are a great way to make it easy for my clients to access my content from their mobile devices. The link feature in bio allows me to create a landing page with multiple links, making it easy for my followers to access all my content from one place.

Bitly also integrates seamlessly with other marketing tools I use regularly. For example, I use Hootsuite to manage my social media accounts, and Bitly integrates with Hootsuite to give me link tracking and analytics right from the Hootsuite dashboard. This integration makes it easy for me to track the performance of my social media posts and optimize my strategy accordingly.

I don't want to leave out this important feature of Bitly that it offers a free plan that provides basic features for personal use. This is a great option for people who don't have a huge marketing budget but still want to take advantage of the features Bitly has to offer. The free plan includes link shortening, basic analytics, and limited branded links. For businesses, Bitly offers several pricing plans that provide more advanced features, including custom domains, advanced analytics, and team collaboration.

Negative: While Bitly is a reliable platform and I use it extensively for link shortening and traffic measurement, there are some notable downsides to this platform. One of the most notable downsides is that the free plan is limited in features and only allows 500 branded links per month. This can be a problem for individuals or businesses with a high volume of links, as they can quickly reach this limit and be forced to upgrade to a paid plan.

Speaking of paid plans, another downside to Bitly is that the premium plans can be expensive compared to some of its competitors. This can make it difficult for smaller businesses or people with limited budgets to justify the cost of upgrading to a paid plan. Also, some of the most significant analytics and metrics are hidden behind the paywall and only available to premium users. This can be frustrating for users who rely on Bitly for analytics, as they may not have access to the full range of metrics, they need to make informed decisions about their marketing strategy.

Bitly is that it does not allow users to edit or delete links once they are created. This can be problematic if a link is shared by mistake or needs to be updated. Users may be forced to create a new link and distribute it to their audience, which can be time consuming and potentially confusing for your followers.

This platform does not offer customer service by phone or chat. While they do have a support ticket system, this may not be enough for users who need quick answers to their questions or concerns. The lack of real-time customer support can be frustrating for users who need immediate assistance. Also, no matter what payment plan you get, the response time will still be slow, it seems that they have neglected this feature of helping users as quickly as possible when they have a question or problem, this is disappointing because most Most of the time I end up looking for help from third parties which is faster and more precise in the solution I want to have or in the question I want to resolve.

It helps to shorten and have metrics of the shared links.

    Date: Apr 02 2023

Summary: Generally, the URLs of the properties of a Real Estate company are very long, so it is very important to take into account that if a user does not know how to use technology very well, they can copy the links manually, therefore, to avoid errors are made when entering a link manually it is better to shorten the links so that the characters are easier to write. Therefore, the main reason I use Bitly is to be able to make the links shorter and more legible for anyone, and I can also have complete tracking of the sources of my clients since I manage many sites where I publish the links, either on social networks, blogs or a forum, making everything much easier to share, track and analyze.

Another way in which I use this platform is to be able to customize each URL without the need to modify the URL of the destination site, so if I want to change any name, code or something like that, I simply do it through Bitly without editing. nothing from the website where users will go. Links can also be reused, thus being able to point to new URLs without the need to change the existing shortened link, I find this very useful so that I don't have to generate multiple URLs each time there is a redirection change, but just do it within this platform.

It works very well when creating a marketing campaign, so you can have a complete analysis of the impact that is being caused thanks to the fact that I can have data on the people who are entering the URLs, which I can also see where they come from. In emails it is much easier to be able to attach links without the need to have a large number of characters, making the links much shorter and more presentable and having a traffic tracking of the shared links.

I also found it useful when I'm sharing links on a printed piece of paper, even more so with QR codes, giving customers more options to be able to have more accessibility, both just having to enter the URLs through scanning a QR code as well as to be able to manually enter the links since they are very short and do not require typing a large number of characters.

Positive: The statistics that Bitly shows are very complete, the metrics range from the clicks that have been made on each link as well as the date of these, at the same time I can have the origin of those accesses that users have had and from what location those come from users, all that and much more I get when a user enters the links generated within Bitly. I also don't want to leave behind how easy to read the graphs of the metrics that Bitly shows me in each link, as well as how easy it is to be able to export that data so that it can be processed in my style.

The Bitly extension for Chrome saves me a lot of time when it comes to shortening a link, it wasn't difficult to install it and link my account, and with a couple of clicks within the extension, the link could be automatically shortened without having to do so many maneuvers. If I want to have a more advanced configuration, I just have to go to Bitly and do everything from there, if I want to do everything quickly and without going to Bitly I just use the extension.

It is useful for me to be able to join several social networks in a single space without having to do it individually. Not only do I attach social networks, but I also find it practical to add very useful links, for example, attaching a URL with recent posts to a blog, a link for news or things of interest. I can also add a gallery of images in those links where I associate the profiles, these images can have a unique redirection to each site of interest that I want to send to the users, this being even more practical than the same social network since the content is little and more focused.

Negative: A specific links comparison tool is missing, this would allow me to arbitrarily compare links that go to the same site but these generated links are placed on different sites or sources of origin. With this, I could have a more detailed analysis of which strategy would be working best in order to generate more traffic with the campaigns I carry out. For now I have to do analysis exporting data to Excel and thus be able to have more clarity on the performance of the links when I am comparing them, something that Bitly should already have integrated so that I do not have to do the whole process that I am doing to compare the performance of several links at the same time.

It bothers me that the links that are shared on social networks have the Bitly thumbnail, I have not been able to configure this to a custom thumbnail or in fact I do not know if that function exists because I have not been able to find said function anywhere. This causes a negative impact on the perception of traffic since people cannot see the preview of the final website or the logo of the company, but they see a Bitly link and few are the ones who click, instead by enlarging the direct link, the correct thumbnail is obtained, and more people are perceived by entering the link. I have searched within the resources of the Bitly website, but I have not found anything about it, if so, the function is not available I would like that within the next updates they can add the customization of the thumbnails of the links generated through this platform.

It seems that I have a bot in customer service, many times I do not have concrete answers to the questions that I ask them and mostly they send me to read the resources section to obtain more information. I've rarely been able to get a solution from Bitly's customer service, but most of the time it's just awful.

Solves the shortened link tracking issue.

    Date: Feb 03 2023

Summary: The management of the links generated through Bitly has been an advantage in the world of marketing since I can manage the campaigns more easily, all this within a panel where I can have a view of the clicks that each link has had and also from the origin that each visitor has had, so I can measure the impact on each site where I have shared the links. I have also been able to have a report of the links that have been shared, which gives me an idea of how useful the shared content has been, likewise I have had an overview of the clicks and organic shares.

Bitly improves the efficiency when sharing links since if links were shared that go directly to the sites that you want to direct to the public, this would be difficult to track. Therefore, this platform facilitates said monitoring and also allows links that are with a large number of characters to be shorter, allowing any user to replicate if they want to copy them manually, it also gives a more professional touch by not having to share links that I am very long and it can cause confusion to some people who can mistake a character when trying to write a link.

It has also allowed me to keep different links organized in which I can track individually, so the performance metrics of each link are more accurate, even more so when several links are generated which can be used for different purposes and thus have an analysis. more precise when carrying out an impact investigation of each content shared with the links shortened with this platform.

Positive: * The creation of QR codes from the links created with this platform makes it easier to share links without the user having to write them manually, it is very useful when it comes to links that are not shared digitally, but have to be printed, such as an invitation to an event or some online form. With the Bitly QR code, you can facilitate the printing of links so that with any phone it can be scanned and simply access directly on the phone without the need to write long links, even if the link is shortened it is easier to have a link to through a QR code. In addition, you can also have follow-up with the generated QR codes, so it is very different than just creating a QR code on a generic platform.

    * One of the features that I liked about this platform is that it allows me to connect a custom domain which gives more seriousness and confidence when sharing links, currently you have to be careful with the links you receive as they can lead to certain sites do not follow you that may end up being a scam. With domain customization in the shortened links, it allows us to provide greater confidence since any company can create a link based on its domain and not have to resort to the basic shortener that begins with "bit.ly".

    * The Link-in-bio function has allowed me to have a space where I can have all my contacts and social networks available without the need to manually share said information, but everything can be attached to a single view. This has been useful to me since I can send my clients everything about me within the same space in order to facilitate access to each person who wants to know how my social networks, portfolio or my LinkedIn profile, practically the name of this feature defines everything, it is a link where the digital biography of a person is shown without having to struggle to find the official channels.

Negative: * There are times when the links go down without prior notice, this causes you to lose a bit of audience for a period of time as they try to access and Bitly's servers are under maintenance without prior notice. This was annoying and I had nothing to do since I only had to wait and that the audience was not lost due to the fact that the links were not working for a while. It didn't work, not even generating new links because the entire platform had fallen, I even contacted technical support and they didn't know how to give me a specific answer about the situation I was experiencing at that moment, so in short, all I had to do was wait for everything to stabilize.

    * It takes a while to learn to understand the reports that are generated from the links generated, in itself being able to understand this platform to take advantage of it is a bit complicated. The good thing is that this platform offers free trials that allow you to use certain features to see the potential of Bitly tools, but you have to take into consideration that not all the tools are available so you have to understand that if you need to test a feature that is outside of the free plan you will simply have to opt for a plan available on the website.

    * If I was able to struggle with technical support because it explained very few things about how to optimize the work process with this platform, this is a bit disappointing because I feel that I did not get the necessary help to get the most out of this platform, but rather had to inform me on my own how to get more performance in organic clicks to have a better audience. Thanks to third parties who recommended this platform to me, I was able to see optimal results, which I did not have with Bitly's support. Apparently, it has technical support that is not very prepared to provide solutions to have better performance, but simply help how configuring most of the tools that this platform has, is at least a good point. Since for new companies that want to use this platform for the first time it is very useful to be able to understand certain things and how they can be implemented within the company, however, they must improve in how to explain to get the most out of Bitly by shortening and link management.
