Merge can be a time-saver and a great tool for synchronizing multiple folder hierarchies (e.g. between reprints of text files) and allowing you to work quickly and accurately, no matter how many revisions you have. To ensure that you understand and are confident in your knowledge of every change made to a particular file, compare different source code branches. Compare product releases to ensure that only the expected files were modified. For audit purposes, create an HTML or XML report listing all changes.
