WebAssembly, commonly referred to as Wasm, is a binary instruction format intended for a stack-based virtual machine. It serves as a portable compilation target for various programming languages, which facilitates the deployment of applications on the web for both client-side and server-side use.
The design of the Wasm stack machine emphasizes efficiency in size and load time, utilizing a binary format that promotes quick execution. By leveraging prevalent hardware capabilities, WebAssembly aims to achieve performance that is comparable to native speed across numerous platforms.
WebAssembly also establishes a memory-safe and sandboxed execution environment that can be integrated into existing JavaScript virtual machines, thus expanding its versatility. Description
WordCraft is an accessible and open-source word processing tool designed for those who create and format various types of documents. Featuring a ribbon interface, it offers a range of editing and design functionalities that include styles, tables, images, citations, footnotes, tables of contents, comments, tracked changes, as well as spelling and grammar checks, and mail merge capabilities. The software can read and write DOCX files, accommodate legacy DOC formats, and is compatible with ODT, RTF, HTML, Markdown, LaTeX, and plain text, in addition to allowing exports to PDF and page images. It operates natively on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and has a WebAssembly version that can be deployed on a static server. Moreover, its command-line utilities, JSON control channel, and server functioning under the Model Context Protocol enable scripted and AI-agent-driven document processing workflows. Currently in the alpha stage, WordCraft is continuously evolving, with ongoing improvements in file compatibility and feature set. As it progresses, users can anticipate even more robust functionalities and enhancements to their writing experience.
