Aside from being founded by a practicing DVM, what sets Shepherd apart from the rest of the veterinary PiMS world is its design.
On the front end, Shepherd is built off of a traditional SOAP, which automatically builds an invoice as treatments are administered to a patient. In the words of our founder Cindy Barnes, DVM, what that means is, “If your record is accurate, so is your invoice.”
Shepherd also leverages backend automations to automatically discharge instructions and treatment notes as soon as they’re administered—meaning all client information will be created and ready by the time the patient is checked out.
On top of advanced backend functionality, we also offer integrations with leading labs. This allows users to easily order lab services from any open SOAP, and once those labs are ordered, they automatically sync inside the patient’s record.
You’ll also be able to seamlessly track and manage your inventory with our built-in inventory management tool. This allows you to see how much inventory is in your practice, as well as what inventory needs to be ordered (and even what you have too much of).
