Description
PDFik is an asynchronous API designed to convert public URLs or raw HTML into highly accurate PDFs. Users can initiate a job, obtain a job ID, and receive an HMAC-signed webhook upon completion of the PDF, with additional support for polling endpoints if preferred. The rendering process utilizes a sandboxed headless Chromium, ensuring that modern CSS, web fonts, and complex JavaScript-heavy pages are accurately represented in the final output.
Among its key features are signed webhooks complete with automatic retries and a dead-letter queue available on all subscription plans, including the Free tier; two separate billing metrics for rendered PDFs and generated gigabytes which are tracked independently, ensuring downloads do not affect the quota; a free test mode ("test": true) that allows users to access the full pipeline without using their quota; file uploads of up to 150 MB across all plans; guaranteed deletion of generated documents within 24 hours; and end-to-end encryption for per-job credentials. Additionally, PDFik provides official SDKs for JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and Java, along with a public OpenAPI specification for developers.
Under the Free plan, users can generate up to 100 PDFs and 0.5 GB of data each month, with card verification ensuring no charges are applied. Paid plans begin at $29 per month and come with a robust 99.5% Service Level Agreement (SLA), catering to various user needs and ensuring reliability.
Description
Playwright is compatible with all contemporary rendering engines, such as Chromium, WebKit, and Firefox. It enables testing across various operating systems like Windows, Linux, and macOS, whether locally or in continuous integration environments, and can operate in both headless and headed modes. The framework ensures that actions are only performed once elements are ready for interaction, and it includes a comprehensive set of introspection events. This synergy effectively removes the reliance on artificial timeouts, which are a common source of unreliable tests. Additionally, Playwright's assertions are tailored for the dynamic nature of the web, automatically reattempting checks until the specified criteria are fulfilled. Users can customize their test retry strategies and capture execution traces, videos, and screenshots to further mitigate instability. In terms of architecture, browsers execute web content from different origins in separate processes, allowing Playwright to align with modern browser frameworks and conduct tests out-of-process. This design choice helps to avoid the usual constraints associated with in-process test runners, ultimately enhancing testing efficiency and reliability. As a result, Playwright emerges as a robust solution for developers seeking to streamline their testing processes.
