Description
OpenHarness is an open-source SDK developed in TypeScript, designed for developers aiming to create tailored AI-agent applications such as coding assistants, command-line tools, and web-based helpers. This toolkit features stateless agent execution, the ability to manage conversation states explicitly, and support for streaming events, alongside middleware that can be composed for retries, data persistence, and context management. Additionally, it supports hierarchical subagents and tools that operate under permission controls. Developers can easily link model providers via the Vercel AI SDK, enhance functionalities with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and utilize filesystem or shell tools through customizable providers. The SDK includes React hooks and Vue composables to facilitate the integration of streaming agent outputs into various application interfaces. OpenHarness is available as an npm package and is designed for integration into projects that run on Node.js or edge environments, functioning as a developer-focused library rather than a service for end-users. Moreover, its architecture encourages flexibility and scalability in AI application development, allowing users to tailor their implementations to specific needs.
Description
boxd offers developers, engineering teams, and AI-agent applications access to persistent Linux virtual machines. Each virtual machine operates with its own kernel and features such as SSH access, a public HTTPS address, and persistent disk storage, allowing for the execution of software requiring a comprehensive computing environment, including Docker, systemd, long-running agents, and development servers, all within an isolated setup. Users have the ability to fork a live machine along with its memory and disk state, enabling them to experiment with alternative approaches without having to rebuild the entire environment; additionally, idle machines can enter a hibernation mode while preserving their disk state. Management of these machines is facilitated through SSH, a command-line interface, an API, and SDKs in Python and TypeScript. Organizations can easily integrate with platforms like GitHub, Linear, and Slack for enhanced collaboration. boxd can be operated as a managed cloud service located in Frankfurt, or it can be self-hosted on Linux infrastructure that supports KVM, with free deployment options available for configurations up to 16 vCPUs. Practical applications for boxd include cloud development environments, AI-agent test beds, background coding assistants, and staging environments for previews. This versatility makes it an excellent solution for teams looking to optimize their development workflows.
