Description

While there are several robust file managers available, many do not adhere to Material Design principles. Even those that claim to follow Material Design often exhibit various minor design imperfections, such as issues with layout, alignment, padding, icons, and fonts, which can create discomfort for users like me, though these flaws might not bother everyone enough to seek out a solution. This dissatisfaction ultimately led me to develop my own file manager. Additionally, numerous popular and trustworthy file managers are closed-source, and while I occasionally use them to access and modify files requiring root permissions, I find myself feeling uneasy about granting any closed-source application such extensive access to my device. After all, this device contains a wealth of personal information, and the level of trust is solely based on the developers' intentions. Therefore, it's crucial to prioritize transparency when it comes to access rights within applications.

Description

By pressing Ctrl+P, you can swiftly navigate to a directory, while fman intelligently remembers your frequently visited folders and presents them as suggestions, making the process far more efficient than the traditional method of sifting through directory structures. Additionally, fman allows for customization through its robust plugin system, enabling users to install existing plugins or create their own to share with others. Serving as a viable alternative to traditional file management tools like Windows Explorer or macOS Finder, fman simplifies the way you browse directories, transfer files, and manage external drives. This innovative approach streamlines file-related tasks, as you can simply open the source directory on one side and the target directory on the other, using a straightforward keyboard shortcut to complete the copy action. Unlike conventional file managers, fman eliminates the hassle of multiple open windows, dragging files, or following a multi-step copy/paste process, thus enhancing overall efficiency. The combination of these features makes fman an intuitive choice for anyone looking to optimize their file management experience.
