Description
Lexia® PowerUp Literacy® is designed to enhance literacy development for students in grades 6–12 who are at a heightened risk of falling short of College- and Career-Ready Standards. It has been demonstrated to be as much as five times more effective than typical middle school reading interventions, allowing students to achieve several years' worth of progress within just one academic year. By the time students reach grades 6–12, they are expected to transition from the process of learning how to read to engaging in reading for learning. Despite this expectation, assessments such as the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) have consistently indicated a significant opportunity gap, revealing that only approximately one-third of eighth-grade students are reading at or above proficient levels. With reading being the primary medium of most secondary education curricula, many students face the risk of not realizing their full academic capabilities. Fortunately, PowerUp addresses this issue, drawing on over three decades of experience in delivering effective Structured Literacy programs; therefore, Lexia's literacy specialists tailored PowerUp specifically to enhance student learning outcomes in a meaningful way. By focusing on personalized learning paths, PowerUp ensures that every student has the chance to overcome literacy challenges and thrive in their educational journey.
Description
Quickly identify the current status of students and redirect efforts toward their future objectives. Utilizing resources from national curriculum providers, state-level practice exams, and programs aimed at college and career readiness, these assessments are designed to align with educational standards and replicate the format of high-stakes digital tests that students encounter. They can be effortlessly created using a concise selection of common question types, including multiple choice, short answer, and true or false formats. Additionally, these assessments are integrated with a variety of comprehensive item banks that feature engaging, technology-enhanced question formats. Educators can also develop personalized rubrics that distinctly outline learning goals and expectations for students, with a user-friendly builder that allows for saving and reusing on subsequent assessments. Furthermore, the system includes a dynamic, automated gradebook that delivers real-time data on student performance, enabling educators to monitor progress, tailor instruction, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. This seamless integration of assessment tools not only streamlines the evaluation process but also enriches the learning experience for students.
