Description
Saga DICOM Viewer is a complimentary, web-based tool that allows users to view .dcm files directly in their browser without requiring any software installation. Users can simply drag and drop a file or an entire study folder onto the webpage, where images are rendered locally, ensuring that no data is uploaded and no user account is necessary. This versatile viewer is compatible with Mac, Windows, Chromebook, and Linux systems across all modern browsers.
Developed using the open-source OHIF v3 framework and a Saga shell, this tool offers features such as image review capabilities (scrolling, window/level adjustments, panning/zooming, and basic measurements), a DICOM tag browser, and a tag editor that includes VR-aware validation and save-as functionality. Additionally, it features a conformance validator that assesses loaded files against the NEMA PS3 standard, highlighting any discrepancies and linking them to the relevant specification sections, along with a launcher for accessing public studies from the OHIF demo dataset or NCI Imaging Data Commons, as well as connecting to a DICOMweb server.
This viewer is ideal for integration engineers, researchers, students, and clinicians who require a quick way to access or verify DICOM files, though it is not intended for diagnostic purposes. Created by Saga IT, a consulting and software company specializing in healthcare IT, this tool exemplifies their commitment to providing accessible solutions for medical imaging needs. With its user-friendly interface and robust functionality, the Saga DICOM Viewer stands out as a valuable resource in the field of medical imaging.
