dcmage serves as a complimentary DICOM workbench designed for the modification of metadata, the de-identification of studies, and the examination of volumetric data. Compatible with both native Mac applications and web browsers, it processes DICOM studies directly on your local machine, ensuring data privacy and efficiency.

The tag editor feature allows users to search for any DICOM tag by its number, keyword, or value, encompassing nested sequences and private tags, while inline checks promptly identify any invalid value representations. Any edits made are saved to a new file, leaving the original data intact and unaltered.

For de-identification, dcmage applies DICOM PS3.15 profiles, including HIPAA Safe Harbor guidelines, and enables the implementation of custom rules, ensuring consistent UID remapping across multiple studies. Additionally, its on-device OCR functionality identifies text embedded in images, allowing users to review and black out sensitive information as needed.

The viewer offers multiple perspectives, including axial, sagittal, and coronal MPR, all with synchronized crosshairs and tools for adjusting window/level, zooming in, and taking measurements.

An audit trail feature meticulously logs every edit, anonymization, and export using a SHA-256 hash-chained system, which can be exported for record-keeping purposes, making it easy to track changes.
