Description
FLUX is an advanced software platform designed for integration with FLIR's video detection systems. This platform aggregates data related to traffic, including events, alarms, and video footage produced by various cameras, sensors, and detectors. Additionally, FLUX provides robust video management capabilities and can operate network video recorders, as well as monitor both mobile and static cameras. By utilizing FLUX, users can effectively oversee all traffic data sourced from different sensors, ensuring that the information is both meaningful and applicable to their needs. Accessing the traffic management system is straightforward, requiring only a web browser and a network connection. FLUX enables users to gather, visualize, and archive traffic-related data, events, and alarms, while also graphically displaying video detectors along with logging and alerting for events. Traffic managers globally rely on FLIR’s detection and monitoring technologies to ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles. With real-time processing of video or thermal imaging, FLUX enhances traffic management strategies in various settings, including urban environments, highways, and tunnels. This comprehensive approach not only improves safety but also optimizes traffic flow, showcasing FLUX's essential role in modern traffic management solutions.
Description
SCOOT operates as an advanced proactive system that modifies traffic signal settings in real-time to accommodate vehicles approaching intersections. In contrast, alternative systems rely on data from departing traffic, which results in timing changes that are often implemented too late to achieve optimal effectiveness. At the core of SCOOT lies an online traffic simulation model that evaluates a variety of potential timing adjustments in real-time, selecting the most efficient option. Other systems typically make modifications based on set parameter thresholds, such as traffic volumes or the number of arrivals on green, which restricts them to a single potential adjustment without prior effectiveness testing. SCOOT, on the other hand, consistently optimizes cycle length, splits, and offsets with each cycle by executing small, controlled modifications. Many alternative systems opt for larger adjustments on a much longer schedule, sometimes up to every 10 minutes, and some do not even optimize cycle length at all. Consequently, these other systems are significantly less adept at responding to the rapidly fluctuating conditions of traffic. This responsiveness makes SCOOT particularly advantageous in urban environments with dynamic traffic patterns.
