fre:ac is a complimentary audio conversion tool and CD ripping software that accommodates a wide range of popular formats and encoders. It allows users to effortlessly convert audio files between formats such as MP3, M4A/AAC, FLAC, WMA, Opus, Ogg Vorbis, Speex, Monkey's Audio (APE), WavPack, and WAV, among others. With fre:ac, you can conveniently rip your audio CDs into MP3 or M4A files, making them compatible with your preferred hardware player, or transform files that might not be compatible with other audio applications. Additionally, the software has the capability to convert entire music libraries while preserving the original folder and filename organization. The built-in CD ripper features integration with the CDDB/GNUdb online CD database, allowing it to automatically retrieve song details and embed them into ID3v2 or other title information tags. This versatile converter supports various formats, including MP3, M4A/AAC, FLAC, WMA, Opus, Ogg Vorbis, and WAV, among others.
