Description

Coinbase is set to launch the Coinbase One Card in the fall of 2025, a credit card utilizing the American Express network that offers cardholders up to 4% back in Bitcoin on their purchases. The percentage of rewards is contingent upon the total assets held by the user on Coinbase, starting at 2% for all users, with the potential for increased rewards as holdings grow. This card is exclusively available to members of Coinbase One, which is a subscription-based service that includes a basic tier. Issued by First Electronic Bank and facilitated through Cardless in collaboration with American Express, the card will come with various exclusive benefits and protections through the Amex network, such as special offers, unique experiences, extended warranties, and coverage for travel disruptions. The design of the card will be metal and feature elements that pay homage to Bitcoin's genesis block. Additionally, since rewards are given in Bitcoin, they will be subject to market volatility and fluctuations in value, and it's important to note that some purchases might not qualify for rewards. Overall, the Coinbase One Card aims to enhance the cryptocurrency experience for its users while providing valuable incentives.
