Description

BackupMGR serves as a self-hosted solution for server backups specifically designed for system administrators, managed service providers, and hosting teams. It features a Go agent that communicates with a web control panel through outbound polling, while also offering agentless connections via SFTP, rsync, or FTP for hosts. Administrators have the capability to create backup jobs that secure various types of data, including files and databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, as well as complete disk images or combined sets of files and databases. The platform is adept at generating encrypted and deduplicated snapshots stored in S3-compatible storage, ensuring that repositories remain isolated by host for added security. Users can automate their backup processes by scheduling incremental backups and implementing retention policies on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, while also having the option to review point-in-time snapshots and restore selected files to different folders. Additionally, job status can be tracked through comprehensive logs, alerts, and health checks, providing peace of mind for administrators. To facilitate integration, a REST API is available for managing hosts and jobs, initiating backup runs, and browsing through snapshots. Customers have the flexibility to install the control panel on their own Linux server and select their preferred storage solutions, thereby tailoring the platform to their specific operational requirements and enhancing their backup strategies.

Description

If you have the ability to run Perl, automating your backups using a cron job becomes feasible. In cases where your hosting provider doesn't support cron jobs, you have the option to utilize another service that does. For smaller databases, you can opt to receive backups directly via email. However, if the backup file exceeds email size limits, you can set up automatic transfers to as many as three different FTP servers. You don't have to possess advanced skills to ensure your databases are backed up securely. MySQLDumper effectively manages various potential errors autonomously, minimizing the number of technical questions you have to address. It provides a straightforward method to back up and restore MySQL databases efficiently. You will receive email notifications regarding completed backup operations, which can include or exclude the backup file as an attachment, and you can set a maximum size for these attachments. Additionally, you can automate the transmission of backups through FTP to multiple servers, ensuring redundancy. The system also allows for easy organization and management of backup files, providing all relevant information in one convenient view. This makes it even simpler to keep track of your data security efforts.
