NanoClaw is an open-source, container-based personal AI assistant designed to provide secure and understandable automation powered by Claude Code. Unlike larger, more complex agent frameworks, it prioritizes simplicity with a compact codebase that can be reviewed and customized in minutes. The system connects primarily through WhatsApp, allowing users to message their assistant directly from their phone while maintaining strict per-group isolation. Each chat group runs inside its own Linux container with an isolated filesystem and dedicated memory file, ensuring strong security boundaries at the operating system level. NanoClaw operates as a single Node.js process, avoiding microservices, message queues, and heavy abstractions.
