Description
AudioRoute allows you to effortlessly capture any sound your Mac or Windows device is producing—be it from a browser stream, a virtual meeting on Zoom or Teams, a softsynth demonstration, or a reference track—and seamlessly route it into your DAW or save it as a WAV file, all without the need for aggregate devices, virtual cables, or configuring Audio MIDI Setup.
With a single installation, you gain access to three distinct capture options: a VST3, AU, and AAX plug-in that can be easily placed on a track within any DAW such as Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase, Studio One, Bitwig, or FL Studio; a virtual input device that functions as a standard microphone in any audio recording application like Audacity, OBS, Zoom, Discord, or QuickTime; and a straightforward one-click recorder located in the menu bar or system tray that can directly save audio to a WAV file without needing to open a DAW.
The software leverages OS-native capture methods using macOS Core Audio process taps and Windows WASAPI process loopback, which means there are no kernel extensions involved, ensuring that your speakers, audio interface, and existing audio routing continue to operate as they always have. Additionally, it features built-in feedback protection that prevents your DAW's output from being inadvertently re-captured, making it a reliable tool for all your audio recording needs. You can now focus on your creative process without worrying about the technical complexities of audio routing.
Description
Rosegarden serves as a music composition and editing platform centered around a MIDI sequencer, boasting an extensive grasp of music notation and offering basic digital audio support. This user-friendly and visually appealing application is designed for Linux, making it a perfect choice for composers, musicians, music students, and those working in small home or studio recording setups. At present, Rosegarden is exclusive to Linux systems; however, the transition to Qt 4 has paved the way for its potential expansion to other platforms, especially since Qt is now freely accessible without requiring a commercial license. By utilizing the Qt 4 libraries for standard controls, Rosegarden can operate seamlessly across various window managers or graphical environments. Additionally, the "Open in Notation Editor" function found in the Segments menu allows users to open all selected segments simultaneously in one editor, enhancing workflow efficiency and collaboration possibilities among users. This feature exemplifies Rosegarden's commitment to providing a comprehensive and integrated music creation experience.
