Description

Atlantis operates as a self-hosted solution, ensuring that your credentials remain within your own infrastructure. It functions as either a Golang binary or a Docker image and is compatible with deployment on various platforms such as VMs, Kubernetes, and Fargate. This tool listens for webhooks from popular version control systems including GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Azure DevOps. It executes Terraform commands remotely and provides feedback with their outputs. Employed by one of the leading companies globally, it effectively manages over 600 Terraform repositories and supports a team of 300 developers. Having been in production for more than two years, each pull request now features a comprehensive log detailing the infrastructure changes made, the contributors involved, and the approvals granted. Atlantis includes the option to mandate approvals for every production change, facilitating compliance with audits without disrupting your workflows. Developers can initiate Terraform pull requests without needing to expose their credentials, while operators can set requirements for approvals before permitting application changes. This ensures that all alterations are applied prior to merging into the master branch, enhancing both accountability and oversight in the development process. Additionally, the system's detailed change logs promote transparency and traceability, making it an invaluable tool for managing infrastructure as code.

Description

Proofline is a cloud-based service for code reviews that assesses GitHub pull requests by examining evidence from deployment environments. It analyzes various factors such as code paths, configurations, dependencies, permissions, resource limits, and deployment details to pinpoint potential production risks prior to merging. The findings provided by Proofline detail the mechanisms behind any failures and reference both code and environmental evidence. When evidence is missing, outdated, or unavailable, it is classified as an assessment gap rather than a confirmation that a modification is safe. Engineers can review assessments through the Proofline console, which allows them to connect coding agents to track review statuses or disseminate findings. The service supports a variety of platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud, Vercel, Cloudflare Workers, Kubernetes, Terraform, OpenTofu, Docker Compose, and Backstage. Additionally, Proofline features integration with GitHub Actions, a command-line interface (CLI), MCP access, an HTTP API, as well as SDKs for TypeScript and Python to facilitate the review process. Notably, infrastructure connections are maintained in a read-only mode; therefore, teams can selectively determine which repositories and environments to link and how to respond to identified findings. This structured approach ensures that potential risks are managed effectively while maintaining a clear line of communication among team members regarding code quality and safety.
