Description
Quest Identity Recovery, previously called On Demand Recovery, is a SaaS-based backup and recovery solution for protecting Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 identity environments. It is designed to extend an organization's on-premises Active Directory recovery strategy into cloud and hybrid identity infrastructure. Identity Recovery backs up Entra ID users, groups, attributes, policies, and other identity information, including objects and attributes that exist only in the cloud. Protected information can include roles, licenses, MFA data, group memberships, application attributes, users, applications, and devices. Difference reporting compares backups against live Active Directory and Entra ID environments to help administrators identify unwanted modifications, deletions, and other potentially harmful changes. Administrators can search for modified or deleted identity objects and selectively restore individual users, attributes, or cloud-only items rather than performing an unnecessarily broad recovery. Bulk recovery capabilities allow multiple Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 objects to be restored simultaneously without requiring PowerShell. The platform provides a centralized hybrid recovery dashboard that integrates with Quest Recovery Manager for Active Directory to coordinate recovery across on-premises and cloud directories. These capabilities can help organizations restore access following accidental deletions, malicious changes, identity incidents, and cloud disruptions while reducing downtime and user impact.
