Description

Developing particle simulations for Autodesk 3ds Max can be achieved with greater efficiency than many competing fluid dynamics plugins, enabling artists without coding or scripting skills to utilize a flexible procedural geometry modifier with ease. This tool also offers an intuitive channel-editing interface, akin to what is found in node-based image compositing software. Unlike the Autodesk 3ds Max SDK, it does not provide optimized geometry and particle lookup functions, which is where AWS Thinkbox Stoke excels, allowing for the rapid generation of expansive particle clouds. Additionally, it supports various formats, including PRT and RealFlow BIN, while also facilitating simulations from several popular plugins like FumeFX, Particle Flow, cebas thinkingParticles, and 3ds Max Force Space Warps. Users can create and simulate new fields, such as velocity fields, as well as manage field data through widely accepted formats. This functionality can be seamlessly integrated with 3ds Max subsystems, including Particle Flow, MassFX, Hair and Fur, and various materials and renderers. The user-friendly nature of this solution empowers artists to focus on their creative process without the burden of technical complexities.

Description

EffectCraft is a visual-effects (VFX) and motion-graphics software that utilizes a node-based approach to facilitate the creation of procedural effects and compositing tasks. Users can manipulate effect nodes, organize layers, tweak settings, and view results in an intuitive graph editor. The software caters to 2D compositing and motion-graphics processes, featuring timeline and keyframe functionalities, along with reusable effects and templates for easier project management and export. Available as both a browser-based application and downloadable versions for Windows, macOS, and Linux, EffectCraft is designed to perform processing locally on the user's device, eliminating the need for a cloud-based rendering service. Targeted towards independent creators, motion designers, video editors, and VFX professionals interested in node-based methodologies, the application also features a JSON control interface and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to facilitate interaction with compatible tools. As it is currently in its alpha stage, users should anticipate potential modifications to features and workflows in future updates. This flexibility allows EffectCraft to adapt and grow alongside the evolving needs of its user base.
