Description
The effectiveness of dashboards, reports, and various tools hinges on the quality of the data they utilize. While individual data sources typically offer significant insights to users, the true value emerges when these sources are integrated into a cohesive and reliable dataset that encompasses all industrial operations. This unified approach enhances the business value of visualization tools tremendously. By synthesizing data from various areas of the plant, intelligence uncovers connections that might otherwise remain hidden. It transforms large volumes of data into digestible segments, enabling industrial teams to monitor performance against critical metrics in a timely manner, thus allowing for impactful decision-making. Discovering new optimization opportunities that could be overlooked in isolated functional areas or separate datasets becomes possible. By delivering a consistent version of the truth and providing context to the data, intelligence empowers you to derive strategic insights from your production information, ultimately leading to improved operational efficiency. This comprehensive understanding can drive better decision-making and foster continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
Description
SPC stands for “Statistical Process Control,” a method that has gained significant traction since the mid-1980s, particularly within the American automotive sector. In French, this technique is referred to as “Contrôle Statistique des Processus” (SPM). The primary aim of SPC is to minimize scrap and rework rates through effective quality control of ongoing production, coupled with sampling methods, thereby anticipating issues related to non-quality. Utilizing SPC software allows for the real-time monitoring of processes and sends alerts if control limits are breached. © Infodream. Among the notifications generated are warnings about overruns of control limits, which are more stringent than tolerance limits, as well as indications of trends that suggest process degradation. This proactive approach enables manufacturers to address potential quality issues before producing defective parts. Importantly, this technique is versatile and can be applied to various manufacturing processes, whether producing in small batches or large volumes, and regardless of whether 100% inspection or sampling is employed. Ultimately, SPC contributes to maintaining high-quality standards in production.
