Description
EMP Intake is a desktop application designed for Windows that facilitates post-incident investigations and the organization of collected evidence files. Investigators can generate detailed case records encompassing various aspects such as evidence, individuals, vehicles, locations, assets, notes, and findings, while also linking these records to supporting documents. The software is capable of importing copies, safeguarding original sources, computing SHA-256 hashes during intake, and meticulously logging all case-related actions. Depending on the chosen edition, teams have the ability to oversee chain-of-custody records, create incident and heat maps, reconstruct timelines, analyze connections between case elements, and compile case packages that include an audit log along with a SHA-256 manifest. Those receiving the exported files can verify their authenticity without needing EMP Intake installed on their systems. The cases are stored locally on the user's Windows device, as EMP Intake is not intended for live surveillance or device extraction purposes. It is particularly beneficial for sectors such as corporate security, loss prevention, campus safety, healthcare security, and investigative units tasked with conducting reviews following incidents. This multifaceted tool enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of post-incident analysis and evidence management.
