PunBB is a lightweight, fast, and PHP-powered discussion forum. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License. Its primary goals include being smaller, faster, and less graphically-intensive than other discussion boards. PunBB is a smaller discussion board than other boards. However, it has fewer features and produces smaller, semantically correct XHTML compliant pages. PunBB is written in PHP. It requires the PHP: Hypertext Processor. PunBB requires a database to store forum data. PunBB supports MySQL and PostgreSQL for this purpose. Private messaging, file attachments and polls are some of the features I have not yet implemented. Other features include linking to off-site avatars and advanced text formatting controls. Subforums are another example.
